Monarch Butterfly Population Dwindles with Rise of Herbicide
The number of Monarch butterflies reaching Mexico has been falling for years, and it has now reached the lowest level on record, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. The World Wildlife Fund announced this week that butterflies this winter were found in 1.7 acres across 11 sanctuaries, down from a high of 45 acres in 1996.

Stem cell breakthrough: Scientists create embryonic-type stem cells without embryos
Scientists were able to reprogram mature stem cells to revert back to an embryonic state, a breakthrough that could make stem cell research easier and less expensive.
In experiments that could open a new era in stem cell biology, scientists have found a cheap and easy way to reprogram mature cells from mice back into an embryonic-like state that allowed them to generate many types of tissue.
Nintendo: No plans to bring minigames to smartphones
Nintendo won't be bringing Mario and Luigi minigames to smartphones, after all.
In a statement to Engadget on Tuesday, Nintendo denied an earlier report suggesting that it would offer minigames of its popular franchises on smartphones to promote its own hardware. The company, however, does plan to use "smart devices to promote our products."

BlackBerry 10 update adds picture passwords, message filter
An update to the BlackBerry 10 operating system is now available to owners of BlackBerry Z30, Z10, Q5 and Q10 smartphones.
